BRAIN ON PLANTS is Stacey Lee Ottman and ZALE.

Founded in Toronto in 2019, BRAIN ON PLANTS is the multidisciplinary world created by the two artists—a meeting point for fashion, music, image-making, and culture.

Stacey Lee Ottman is a designer, photographer, and creative director, and a CAFA Honoured Creative. Her practice moves between fashion, photography, styling, art direction, and film. Through BRAIN ON PLANTS, she explores reconstructed garments, original designs, one-of-one pieces, and new approaches to making and presenting clothing.

ZALE is a Grammy and JUNO Award-winning producer and songwriter and the 2026 Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Emerging Songwriter Award recipient. His creative practice extends beyond music into fashion, direction, visual art, and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Together, Stacey and ZALE treat BRAIN ON PLANTS less like a traditional fashion label and more like an evolving art house. Clothing, music, photography, film, installations, runway shows, and collaborations all exist as parts of the same practice.

There is no real separation between them.
